At least 17 people have been confirmed dead following a tragic head-on collision near Tikrom, close to Mankranso in the Ashanti Region.
According to reports, the accident involved an ambulance traveling from Drobo toward Kumasi and a sprinter bus heading in the opposite direction.
The two vehicles reportedly collided head-on under circumstances that are yet to be fully established by authorities.
Sources indicate that the ambulance was transporting a six-year-old child at the time of the crash.

The child was among those who lost their lives in the incident. Initial reports had placed the death toll at 15, but subsequent updates have raised the figure to 17, making it one of the deadliest road accidents recorded in the area in recent times.
