23-Year-Old Woman Dies After Alleged Poisoning by Boyfriend Over GH¢100 Dispute

A tragic incident has been reported at Gomoa Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, where a 23-year-old woman, identified as Theresa Darkoah, allegedly died after being poisoned by her boyfriend following a disagreement over GH¢100.

The suspect, known as Kofi Emma and popularly referred to as Blackee, is believed to have committed the act after an argument ensued between the two over money.

Reports indicate that Kofi Emma had been providing financial support to Theresa in a bid to win her affection.

However, tensions reportedly arose when he began to feel exploited by the deceased.

According to sources, the dispute began when Theresa requested GH¢100 from Kofi Emma to repair a faulty fan.

Though he sent the money, she allegedly stopped responding to his calls afterward.

Frustrated by her silence, the suspect is said to have demanded a refund and allegedly issued threats when she refused.

Subsequently, it is alleged that Kofi Emma laced some medication belonging to Theresa with poison and had it delivered to her through a third party.

After ingesting the medicine, Theresa’s condition deteriorated rapidly. She was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. Medical personnel reportedly confirmed the presence of a toxic substance in her system.

Following the incident, Kofi Emma has gone into hiding. The police have launched a manhunt to locate and apprehend him.

A close friend of the deceased, in an interview with journalist Nana Ansah, recounted details surrounding the events that led to Theresa’s untimely death.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing as authorities continue efforts to bring the suspect to justice.
