Nigerian politician Adam Oshiomhole, aged 73, has come under public scrutiny following the circulation of images and videos showing him aboard a private jet with a South African social media influencer.
The footage, which surfaced online over the weekend, quickly sparked debate across social media platforms, with critics questioning the optics of the encounter amid Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges.
Some commentators accused the former Edo State governor of insensitivity, arguing that public officials should exercise greater restraint in how they present their lifestyles in public spaces.

Others, however, defended Oshiomhole, noting that there was no evidence of wrongdoing and stressing that public figures are entitled to private lives and personal associations.
Supporters also cautioned against drawing conclusions based solely on images without verified context.
Neither Senator Oshiomhole nor his representatives have issued an official statement addressing the backlash at the time of reporting.
The South African influencer involved has also remained silent on the matter.
