The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has conducted a major anti-narcotics operation at Budumburam, leading to the arrest of several suspected drug dealers and the seizure of significant quantities of illicit substances.
The intelligence-led operation forms part of NACOC’s broader strategy to dismantle organized drug networks and curb the distribution and abuse of narcotics within vulnerable communities.
According to officials, the raid targeted known hotspots believed to be central to the local drug trade.
Among those arrested was 32-year-old Rebecca Afia Naa Dei Kotei, popularly known as “Mother.”

Investigators describe her as a key figure in the Budumburam drug scene, allegedly coordinating the sale and distribution of illegal drugs in the area.
Her arrest is considered a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to disrupt entrenched trafficking operations.
Preliminary assessments indicate that the seized substances were intended for local distribution, raising concerns about the social and public health impact of drug activity within the community, particularly among the youth.
NACOC officials noted that the scale of the operation underscores the seriousness of the threat posed by drug-related crime in the region.
NACOC has confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that all suspects currently in custody will be processed in accordance with the law.
The Commission emphasized its commitment to ensuring that those found culpable are prosecuted to the full extent of Ghana’s legal framework.
Authorities have also signaled that further operations are imminent as NACOC intensifies surveillance and enforcement across the Central Region.
The Commission has called on residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information, stressing that community support remains critical to the sustained fight against narcotics and related criminal activities.
