Police in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region have arrested a 55-year-old man in connection with a violent domestic assault at Sefwi Abrokofe.
The suspect, William Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi Manso, is alleged to have stabbed a family member, Akua Agyeiwaa, in both eyes with a pair of scissors during a domestic dispute.
The victim, believed to be in her early 50s, reportedly sustained critical injuries as a result of the attack.
Following the incident, the injured woman was rushed to the Juaboso Government Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Police say her condition required urgent intervention due to the severity of the injuries.
After a formal complaint was lodged, a police patrol team was dispatched to the community to apprehend the suspect.
Upon arrest, William Gyamfi was found with visible injuries, including a swollen left eye and forehead, as well as bleeding from his left leg.
Police indicated that these injuries were allegedly inflicted by some residents who assaulted him prior to his arrest.
The suspect was subsequently taken to the same hospital for medical care and was later discharged. He is currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
Meanwhile, some residents of Sefwi Abrokofe have raised concerns about the suspect’s alleged history of violent behaviour.
According to community accounts, he has previously been involved in a cutlass attack on his brother-in-law, though police have not yet officially confirmed these claims.

Community members are urging law enforcement authorities to conduct thorough investigations and ensure that the suspect is prosecuted in accordance with the law, stressing that firm action is necessary to deter similar acts of domestic violence in the area.
