A middle-aged man, believed to be in his early 50s, has been arrested after allegedly being caught engaging in an act of bestiality with a sheep in a rural community in Ghana’s Ashanti Region.
According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred inside an uncompleted building within the community.
Residents who reportedly discovered the act raised an alarm, drawing the attention of other community members to the scene.

Videos circulating on social media show the suspect being publicly assaulted by an angry mob. In the footage, the man is seen being whipped on his bare back, forced to carry a cement block, and made to walk with the sheep tied around his waist.
The disturbing images have sparked widespread condemnation and renewed debate over mob justice and human rights abuses.
While many social media users have expressed shock and disgust over the alleged act, others have criticized the community’s response, stressing that no individual has the right to subject a suspect to physical abuse or humiliation.
Legal experts and human rights advocates have consistently warned that mob justice undermines the rule of law and can lead to severe injuries or death.
Under Ghanaian law, bestiality is a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment if proven in court.
Authorities are expected to take over the case to ensure proper investigation and due process.
