Tragedy in Sefwi Boinzan: Twin Brothers Allegedly Beat Man to Death

A tragic incident has been reported at Sefwi Boinzan in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region, where two twin brothers have allegedly beaten a man to death following a confrontation over illegal mining activities.

The suspects, identified as Atta Kofi and Ebi Wom, both aged 28, are accused of assaulting a 33-year-old man, Theophilus Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi KK.

According to accounts from the community, the deceased was washing gold in a river at the time of the incident—an activity that residents strongly oppose due to its environmental impact.

Reports indicate that one of the twins, who resides near the river, confronted Gyamfi and demanded that he stop the activity.

When Gyamfi allegedly refused, a heated argument ensued.

The situation escalated when the second twin joined the confrontation, resulting in a physical altercation during which Gyamfi was reportedly beaten.

After the incident, the victim was taken home for treatment, but his condition deteriorated.

He was later rushed to the Juaboso Government Hospital by family members and was pronounced dead on the way.

The Assembly Member for the Boinzan Electoral Area, Aha Kojo Vincent, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the two suspects fled the community shortly after the attack.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Juaboso Government Hospital mortuary.

Police have since launched investigations and intensified efforts to track down and arrest the suspects as the community awaits justice.
