Security agencies in Ho have recorded a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking following the interception of a vehicle transporting a large quantity of suspected Indian hemp.
According to police sources, officers acting on intelligence mounted an operation that led to the interception of a fleeing vehicle within the Ho municipality.
A search conducted on the vehicle uncovered twenty-six (26) sacks of a substance believed to be Indian hemp, with an estimated street value exceeding GH₵1 million.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
Preliminary findings suggest the consignment was intended for distribution across multiple locations, raising concerns about the scale and coordination of the operation.
The seized substances have since been secured as exhibits, pending forensic analysis to confirm their exact composition.
Police officials indicate that investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals connected to the trafficking network, including possible financiers and distributors.
Law enforcement authorities have reiterated their commitment to combating the illicit drug trade, emphasizing that such activities pose serious risks to public health, safety, and national security.
