Residents of Twifo Nuakrom in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region have been left stunned following the arrest of a 50-year-old man for allegedly burying his wife inside their bedroom.

The suspect, identified as Kweku Charles, is accused of secretly burying his 60-year-old wife, Sofomaame Esther Bolu—popularly known as “Nigeria Woman”—within their home after her death.

The deceased was the founder and leader of the Miracles Prayer Centre. According to information gathered by Adom News, Esther Bolu had been unwell for some time.

During her illness, Charles reportedly took over the management of church activities on her behalf. After her death, he allegedly failed to inform her family, church members, or the wider community, and instead buried her in a grave dug inside their bedroom.

Concerns were raised after Esther Bolu was not seen for more than two weeks. When questioned by neighbours, Charles claimed he had taken her to Accra for medical treatment.

However, inconsistencies in his explanation heightened suspicion.

Residents reportedly confronted him further, leading to an attempted escape. A search of the house later revealed the deceased’s body buried in the bedroom.

Community elders reported the matter to the Twifo Praso Police, who promptly arrested Charles.
