Police in the Western North Region have arrested twin brothers, Atta Kofi and Ebi Wom, in connection with the alleged beating to death of a 34-year-old man at Sefwi Boinzan in the Juaboso District.
The suspects have been charged with murder and remanded into police custody. They are expected to reappear before court on February 9, 2026.
The deceased, identified as Theophilus Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi KK, reportedly died following a violent confrontation at a river within the community.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Gyamfi had gone to the river to wash what was described as “gold,” an activity one of the twins objected to, accusing him of polluting the water source.
An argument allegedly broke out after Gyamfi refused to stop. The situation reportedly escalated when the second twin joined the confrontation, leading to a physical altercation. During the incident, Gyamfi is said to have been severely assaulted.
After the clash, the victim was taken home, where initial attempts were made to treat his injuries. However, his condition worsened, prompting family members to rush him to the Juaboso Government Hospital.
He was pronounced dead on the way to the facility.
Following the incident, the suspects allegedly fled the community. Police later tracked them down and arrested them to assist with ongoing investigations.
The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that investigations are continuing as part of the prosecution process.
Authorities have also urged residents to remain calm and allow due process to take its course, while cautioning against taking the law into one’s own hands.
