A car plunged into an uncovered pit dug for an ongoing bridge project on the Kwahu Akwasiho road early this morning, leaving three people injured.
According to eyewitness accounts and a video circulating online, a taxi carrying several passengers veered off the road and overturned into the deep excavation.
The victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to a nearby health facility for medical attention. No fatalities have been reported so far.

Residents say the pit, which was dug as part of a stalled or slow-moving bridge construction project, has remained uncovered and poorly marked for weeks, posing a serious danger to motorists, especially at night and during early morning hours.
They argue that the absence of warning signs, barricades, or proper lighting has turned the area into an accident-prone zone.
Community members have expressed frustration and fear, noting that this is not the first incident linked to the abandoned excavation.
They are calling on the government, the Department of Urban Roads, and the contractor responsible for the project to take immediate action to secure the site.

Residents are demanding the urgent covering of the pit, installation of clear warning signs, and the speedy completion of the bridge project to prevent further accidents and possible loss of life.
