Delegates from the Obuasi Municipal constituency have publicly appealed to Yaw Osei Adutwum to come forward and pay what they described as his regular party dues, during the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries held on 31 January 2026.

The appeal reportedly arose amid internal party processes at the constituency level, where delegates raised concerns about adherence to party obligations by all aspirants and key figures participating in the primaries.

According to sources within the Obuasi Municipal NPP, the call was made in the spirit of accountability and fairness, stressing that party rules must apply equally to all, regardless of status or influence.

Delegates emphasized that the payment of dues is a fundamental requirement under party regulations and serves as a demonstration of commitment to the party’s ideals and structures.

They noted that failure to comply with such obligations could undermine internal discipline and set an undesirable precedent.

The incident briefly drew attention from party supporters present at the venue but did not disrupt the voting process.

Party officials reportedly stepped in to calm tensions and assured delegates that appropriate channels exist to address such concerns.
