President Mahama Orders Recall President John Dramani Mahama has directed the immediate recall of Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from his diplomatic post.
The directive, dated February 7, 2026, was issued following allegations of voter inducement during the National Democratic Congress parliamentary primaries held in the Ayawaso East Constituency. Mr. Baba Jamal was among the candidates who contested in the primaries.
According to a statement from the Presidency, while allegations of vote-buying were made against multiple aspirants, Mr. Baba Jamal was the only serving public officer among them.
