An alleged impersonator posing as a soldier has been arrested by military personnel at 37, after his conduct reportedly raised suspicion during an encounter.

According to reports, the suspect was intercepted while on his way to meet a nurse said to be on rotational duty.

During preliminary questioning, he allegedly claimed to have served in the military for seven years.

However, officers became doubtful when he was unable to state his rank or provide basic details consistent with military service.

The inconsistencies in his responses prompted the personnel to detain him for further verification. Subsequent checks reportedly suggested that the suspect was not a serving member of the armed forces, leading to his arrest for impersonation and related investigations.

Sources say the suspect has been handed over to the appropriate authorities to assist with ongoing inquiries.

Security officials have cautioned the public against individuals falsely presenting themselves as military personnel, noting that such acts pose security risks and undermine public trust.

The military has reiterated its commitment to professionalism and urged civilians to report suspicious behaviour involving uniforms or claims of service.
