Two Bedrooms and Other Properties Burned to Ashes at Ablekuma North

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained a domestic fire that broke out at Kwashieman Been-To in the Greater Accra Region on Friday, February 14, 2026.

According to officials, the fire was reported at 15:27 hours, prompting an immediate response from the GNFS crew.

Firefighters arrived at the scene within eight minutes, at 15:35 hours, and swiftly worked to bring the blaze under control by 15:47 hours. The fire was completely extinguished at 16:45 hours.

The incident affected a residential property, where one bedroom and its contents were entirely destroyed. Another bedroom and the hall sustained partial damage.

An unspecified sum of money was also partially burnt during the incident. However, the swift intervention of firefighters ensured that three adjoining rooms were successfully salvaged, preventing further destruction.

One casualty, identified as 53-year-old Pastor Matthew, sustained injuries and was attended to at the scene before being transported to the Ablekuma North Polyclinic for medical treatment.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. GNFS officials have reiterated the importance of fire safety measures in homes and urged the public to promptly report emergencies to enable rapid response and minimize damage.
