The Eastern Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a motorbike snatching incident that occurred on January 18, 2026, at Sibakon Down near Comet Estate in the Eastern Region.
According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit, personnel from the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate tracked and apprehended 31-year-old Kwabla Egblorgbe Gadoglo Mohammed, also known as Moha, at his hideout in Afienya on February 13, 2026.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, together with a deceased accomplice, hired the services of an okada rider from Kwabenya to Sibakon Hospital.
Upon arrival, they allegedly attacked the rider using a locally manufactured pistol and a stone, robbing him of his iPhone 13 Pro and demanding the key to his unregistered Royal motorbike.
The victim reportedly raised an alarm, leading to the lynching of one suspect while the other fled the scene with the stolen phone.
A subsequent search at Mohammed’s residence in Abokobi led to the retrieval of several items, including tools and three mobile phones.
Further investigations resulted in the arrest of 37-year-old Kwame Accolor, alias Small Kidi, at Anyako in the Volta Region for allegedly purchasing the stolen phone.
