The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested three individuals believed to be members of a robbery syndicate accused of terrorising parts of Obuasi and surrounding communities.

The arrests were carried out on February 15, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation at Mangoase near Pokukrom.

According to police sources, officers raided multiple hideouts allegedly linked to the group in a coordinated effort to dismantle the network.

During the operation, police retrieved a pump-action shotgun with ammunition, machetes, a bayonet, combat boots, a 9mm round, and cash amounting to GH¢20,000, believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.

Preliminary investigations have reportedly connected two of the suspects to the killing of three individuals at Breme near Bechem in the Bono Region in March 2025.

Authorities say efforts are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices and recover additional weapons.
