The Berekum Divisional Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old man, David Frimpong, for unlawful possession of narcotic drugs at Nyamebekyere, a suburb in the Berekum Municipality of the Bono Region.

According to a press release issued by the Ghana Police Service, the arrest followed an intelligence-led operation at the suspect’s residence in a semi-completed building. Police say Frimpong attempted to flee upon noticing officers but was apprehended.

A search of the premises uncovered 57 compressed slabs of dried leaves, 195 wraps of dried leaves, and three sacks containing additional quantities of the substance, all suspected to be Indian hemp.
