Woman Arrested in Paga for Selling Fake Aphrodisiacs to Men

A 33-year-old woman, identified as Emmanuella Aenge-Bisi, has been arrested at the Paga border in the Upper East Region for allegedly engaging in the sale of fake and unwholesome pharmaceutical products.

According to preliminary reports, the suspect was apprehended during an operation targeting the illegal trade of unregistered medical products in border communities.

Authorities allege that she was operating alongside her Nigerian husband in distributing products that had not received approval from the relevant regulatory bodies.

Investigators claim that the suspect admitted to selling purported aphrodisiacs and waist pain remedies to members of the public without proper certification, registration, or quality assurance clearance.

The products were reportedly marketed to unsuspecting customers, raising serious public health concerns.

Regulatory officials have reiterated that the sale of unapproved and counterfeit medicines poses significant health risks, as such products may contain harmful substances or ineffective ingredients.

Consumers are advised to verify that medicines have been approved by the appropriate authorities before purchase.

The suspect is currently assisting with investigations, and authorities say further action will be taken in accordance with the law.
