Breaking: Assin North NPP Delegate Dies After Ghastly Motor Accident, Others Injured

One of the victims involved in the tragic motor accident on November 14, 2025, in Assin North has sadly passed away.

The deceased, identified as Yahya, was the Polling Station Chairman for the Assin Breku Ninkyiso Electoral Area.

He succumbed to his injuries this morning at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, where he had been referred for advanced medical care.

Yahya Mohamed suffered a traumatic leg amputation and had remained unconscious since the accident.

Meanwhile, the Assin North NPP Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Vilinke Mohammed, is still receiving treatment at St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.

He sustained a serious head injury and remains under medical supervision.

The third victim, Kwaku Mensah, has also been referred to another facility for specialized treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

The accident occurred around 4pm at Assin Akonfudi while the victims were en route to a delegates’ meeting with NPP Presidential Aspirant Dr. Bryan Acheampong.

Their motorbike was struck from behind by another speeding bike while negotiating a curve, leading to the crash and critical injuries.

In a gesture of support and solidarity, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, accompanied by a team of NPP constituency executives, visited the victims at the hospital.

He donated GH¢20,000 to assist with their medical expenses.
