Nyamebekyere, November 18, 2025 — Firefighters from the Bechem Fire Station responded promptly to a distress call at 5:38 a.m. following a serious head-on collision on the Sunyani–Kumasi highway.
The accident, which occurred at Nyamebekyere, involved a Ford Transit (registration AS 7172-23) and a Kia Rhino (registration AS 3058-X).
A swift rescue operation was carried out by an eight-member team led by STNO II Simon Yeboah of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
All sixteen individuals involved—fourteen (14) in the Ford Transit and two (2) in the Kia Rhino—were successfully extricated and transported to the Bechem Government Hospital and PISGAH Advanced Medical Center for medical attention.

While all victims sustained various degrees of injury, no fatalities were reported.
Both vehicles suffered severe damage. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
