Police Debunk Viral Robbery Claims on Berekum–Drobo Road, Warn Against False Information

The Bono Regional Police Command has officially refuted claims circulating in a viral video alleging a robbery incident on the Berekum–Drobo Road.

The video, which surfaced on November 18, 2025, suggested that a robbery had occurred along the route, raising public concern.

In a press release issued by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Public Relations Officer for the Bono Regional Police Command, authorities confirmed that preliminary investigations conducted across police stations within the Bono Region and cross-checked nationwide show no record of any such incident being reported.

Further verification with the Ghana Armed Forces also confirmed the absence of such a case.

The police are encouraging anyone with credible information related to the alleged robbery to come forward and assist with ongoing inquiries.

Additionally, the Cyber Crime Unit has launched efforts to identify and invite those responsible for publishing the misleading video to aid investigations.

The Command cautioned the public against sharing or publishing false news, stressing that individuals found culpable will face the full rigours of the law.
