The Ministry of Health has released an official statement providing updates on salary payments for newly recruited nurses and the deployment of medical officers across the country.
According to the press release, over 6,000 of the 13,500 newly recruited nurses have successfully received their salaries.
The Ministry assured stakeholders that all outstanding administrative issues related to payments will be resolved in due course.

The Ministry also acknowledged and commended newly posted medical officers who have reported to their assigned duty stations. Those yet to report are urged to do so by the extended deadline of Friday, 12th December 2025.
The extension is aimed at allowing sufficient time for remaining officers to report, ensuring a fair and balanced distribution of healthcare personnel nationwide.
Clarifying concerns surrounding postings, the Ministry emphasized that the deployments are not punitive, but are part of a strategy to ensure equitable distribution of health professionals across both urban and underserved regions.
Families of newly posted officers are encouraged to support their relatives in adapting to their assigned locations, particularly in remote areas.
In line with its commitment to effective healthcare delivery, the Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to working with stakeholders to provide incentives for officers posted to rural and hard-to-reach communities. These efforts align with the Ministry’s Human Resource Posting Guidelines.

To facilitate the integration and retention of healthcare workers, the Ministry called on Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to offer support through incentives such as accommodation, transportation, and other basic amenities.
Finally, the Ministry made it clear that no changes will be made to the recent postings. The Ministry reiterated its goal of strengthening the healthcare system through equitable deployment and adequate support for all personnel.
