Canadian immigration authorities have deported 366 Nigerian nationals, with an additional 974 currently awaiting removal, according to emerging reports.

The mass deportation forms part of a broader immigration enforcement campaign targeting individuals found to be in violation of Canada’s immigration laws.

The deported individuals were reportedly removed due to reasons including expired visas, failed asylum applications, criminal convictions, and breaches of residency requirements.

The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA), responsible for enforcing removal orders, is said to be processing the remaining cases, with repatriation efforts expected to continue in the coming weeks.

Images circulating online show groups of individuals—mostly men—dressed in winter clothing, carrying travel bags and immigration documents, under heavy supervision.

The images have since sparked widespread reactions across social media and among diaspora communities.

Officials from Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been notified, and arrangements for the safe return and reintegration of deported nationals are reportedly underway.

This development underscores the importance of legal immigration pathways and adherence to host country laws.

Experts advise that immigrants must ensure their documentation is valid and updated, and should seek proper legal advice when pursuing asylum or permanent residency in foreign countries.
