The result marks a significant blow for the league leaders as they struggled to break down a resilient Celta side.

Williot Swedberg was the star of the match, scoring both goals for the visitors in the 53rd and 90th minutes.

His clinical finishing and composure in front of goal proved decisive, as Celta capitalized on Madrid’s defensive lapses.

The match took a further turn against Real Madrid when defender Fran García was shown a straight red card in the 64th minute, reducing Los Blancos to ten men. Álvaro Carreras was also dismissed in the 90th minute, leaving Madrid with nine players in the closing moments of the game.

Despite enjoying the lion’s share of possession, Real Madrid lacked cutting edge in the final third, failing to register a goal at home in a rare off-day for their attack.

Celta Vigo’s disciplined defensive setup and effective counterattacks earned them a well-deserved three points, boosting their confidence as the season progresses.

The loss raises concerns for Xabi Alonso’s side, who will now need to regroup ahead of their next fixture.

Meanwhile, Celta Vigo will celebrate a memorable night, having outclassed one of Spain’s most dominant teams on their own turf.
