Parliament notifies EC of vacancy in Kpandai parliamentary seat after it was declared by the court.
The Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, has officially notified the Electoral Commission of Ghana of a vacancy in the membership of Parliament for the Kpandai Constituency.
In a letter dated December 4, 2025, addressed to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensah, the notification follows an order issued by the High Court in Tamale.

The court directed a rerun of the Kpandai Parliamentary Elections, which was originally held during the 2024 general elections.
The letter, citing Article 112(5) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, as amended, emphasizes the Clerk’s constitutional obligation to inform the Commission of such occurrences.
It notes that the vacancy was occasioned by the court’s order, dated November 24, 2025.
The notification is also in response to a court order served on the Clerk to Parliament, in which he was named as the fourth respondent in the case, with the suit number NR/TL/HC/E13/22/25.
