A total of 14 rescued, driver trapped and freed after head-on collision at Airport Residential Area.
A serious road traffic accident occurred on Sunday at the Airport Residential Area in Accra, involving a head-on collision between a commercial minibus (trotro) and an articulator truck.

The crash resulted in multiple injuries and temporarily trapped the minibus driver inside the mangled vehicle.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened in the early hours of the day when the minibus, carrying passengers to an unknown destination, collided with the truck under unclear circumstances.

The impact of the crash severely damaged the front section of the minibus, leaving the driver pinned in his seat.
Emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ambulance Service arrived promptly at the scene.
After a tense rescue operation, the driver was successfully extricated using hydraulic rescue tools and immediately transported to a nearby hospital in critical but stable condition.
In total, 14 passengers were rescued and provided with emergency medical attention.
Most sustained varying degrees of injury, but no fatalities were reported as of the time of reporting.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, which may involve issues related to speeding, driver error, or mechanical failure.
