The President’s move comes after he publicly reaffirmed his commitment to the fight against corruption during a meeting with the Peace Council.

He described the Office of the Special Prosecutor as a “vital cog” in Ghana’s anti-corruption efforts.

President Mahama further called on the Office of the Special Prosecutor to intensify its efforts to restore public trust and deliver on its core mandate.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening the institution to ensure it tackles corruption decisively, in alignment with the original intent behind its creation.
