Petrol tanker crashes into power pole and destroys many shops in Hohoe causing damages to bystanders.
A potentially disastrous incident was narrowly avoided in Hohoe on Wednesday when a petrol tanker veered off the road, crashing into a power pole and a nearby shop.

According to eyewitnesses, the tanker lost control while navigating a curve and veered into the roadside area, causing significant damage to the electrical infrastructure and a small retail structure.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported at the time of the incident.

Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly to the scene, acting promptly to prevent a possible explosion.
Their rapid intervention ensured the area was secured and the risk of fuel ignition was contained.
Officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Municipal Assembly also visited the scene to assess the extent of the damage.
Power was temporarily cut off in the affected area as a safety measure.

The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, and efforts are underway to clear the wreckage and restore power supply.
Residents have been urged to exercise caution around the scene and report any lingering fuel leaks or electrical hazards.
