A tragic and unusual incident occurred in Kpandai in the Northern Region of Ghana, where a swarm of bees fatally attacked a National Democratic Congress (NDC) executive during a party meeting ahead of the rerun of the parliamentary elections in the constituency.

According to local reports, the NDC executive, whose name has been withheld, was attending a strategic meeting with other party members when the bees descended on the gathering without warning.

Efforts were made to rescue victims from the attack, but the NDC official unfortunately succumbed to the stings before medical help could arrive.

The incident comes just days after a government minister reportedly issued a strong warning to some traditional leaders in the area over alleged interference in the electoral process, threatening possible arrests if they acted outside the law.

While there is no official link between the minister’s statement and the bee attack, the timing has fueled public speculation and concern.

Party officials and residents have been left in shock by the rare occurrence.

Environmental experts suggest that disturbances in natural habitats, noise, or vibrations from large gatherings could provoke such bee behavior.
