There has been a fire outbreak that has burnt shops into ashes and properties that worth thousands of Ghana Cedis.

A devastating fire outbreak in Sunyani’s Zongo area on Monday morning has destroyed several shops, reducing valuable properties and livelihoods to ashes.

The incident, captured in a video circulating on social media, has sparked widespread concern among residents and business owners.

According to eyewitnesses, the blaze began in the early hours and quickly spread across a row of shops, consuming goods and materials worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

Among the affected businesses were stores dealing in paints, sewing machines, clothing materials, and other supplies used in garment production.

Firefighters were called to the scene and managed to bring the inferno under control after several hours.

However, by the time the flames were subdued, many shops had already been completely destroyed, leaving business owners counting their losses.

The cause of the fire is yet to be officially confirmed, but preliminary reports suggest it may have been triggered by an electrical fault. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
