One of most popularAfrican artist sues Beyoncé for 20 Million over alleged copyright infringement on outfit design.
Cameroonian music sensation and creative artist Krys M has reportedly filed a20 million lawsuit against global pop icon Beyoncé, accusing her of copyright infringement.
The case centers on claims that Beyoncé wore an outfit with a design concept allegedly created by Krys M and her team without seeking prior permission or offering due credit.

According to reports, Krys M and her designer collaboratively conceptualized and handcrafted a unique outfit that reflects African heritage, creativity, and personal expression.

The ensemble, which had been showcased in Krys M’s visual projects and public appearances, is said to be distinctive in both design and symbolism.
However, the artist and her team were stunned to see Beyoncé recently appear in what they claim is a strikingly similar outfit, worn during a high-profile performance and shared widely on social media.
Krys M alleges that the design was copied without authorization, and that no acknowledgment was given to her or her designer, despite the apparent resemblance.
“Our work is not just fashion it is identity, creativity, and culture,” Krys M reportedly stated. “Seeing it used by one of the biggest global stars without recognition is heartbreaking and unfair.”
The lawsuit, filed in a U.S. federal court, seeks $20 million in damages for copyright violation, loss of credit, and emotional distress.
Krys M’s legal team argues that the outfit design constitutes intellectual property, and its unauthorized use by a high-profile artist like Beyoncé has commercial and reputational implications.
Representatives for Beyoncé have yet to issue an official statement in response to the lawsuit.

The case, however, has already sparked widespread debate online about intellectual property rights in the fashion and creative industries—especially between global stars and emerging artists from the Global South.
As the matter unfolds, the case is expected to test legal boundaries around fashion design ownership and further highlight the importance of crediting original creators in the entertainment and fashion worlds.
