38 Suspects Arrested in Tema During Christmas Special Operations

As part of efforts to ensure public safety and security during the festive season, the Ghana Police Service has arrested 38 suspects in a series of coordinated, intelligence-led operations across parts of the Tema Region.

The operations, which form part of the nationwide Christmas Security Strategy, targeted known crime hotspots in Prampram, Tema Newtown, Sege, and Kpong.

According to a statement from the Police, the special operation was aimed at preventing criminal activities, particularly during the heightened movement and economic activity that characterizes the Yuletide period.

The arrested individuals are suspected to be involved in offenses such as robbery, drug-related crimes, illegal possession of weapons, assault, and theft.

During the swoops, law enforcement officers retrieved items including narcotics, unregistered motorbikes, mobile phones, and other suspected stolen property.

All suspects are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.

The Police assured the public of their continued vigilance and readiness to act swiftly to prevent crime and maintain peace throughout the season.

They further encouraged residents to remain alert and cooperate with the Police by providing timely information on suspicious individuals or activities.

The Christmas Special Operations will continue across all regions as part of a broader strategy by the Ghana Police Service to safeguard lives and property and promote a peaceful festive season nationwide.
