The Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area, Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, has added his voice to growing public concerns over the controversial National Cathedral project, calling for transparency and accountability regarding its stalled progress and alleged financial mismanagement.
Speaking during a recent public engagement, the traditional leader did not mince words as he expressed deep disappointment over the way the project has been handled.
He described the halted construction of the National Cathedral as a national embarrassment and a betrayal of public trust.

Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II passionately appealed to former President John Dramani Mahama should he return to office in 2025 to take bold steps to launch a full-scale investigation into the project.
He urged Mahama to ensure that any individuals or institutions found culpable in the misappropriation of funds or procedural breaches be prosecuted without fear or favor.
“This is not about politics,” the chief stressed. “This is about protecting the public purse and ensuring that sacred projects such as this are not tainted with corruption.”
The National Cathedral project, launched as a symbol of national unity and faith, has come under intense scrutiny over cost overruns, lack of transparency, and questionable procurement practices.
Despite millions of cedis reportedly disbursed, construction has stalled, sparking calls from civil society, religious groups, and now traditional leaders for a thorough audit and accountability.
