Multiple Vehicles Burned to Ashes at Abossey Okai Mechanic Shop

A devastating fire has ravaged a mechanic shop at Abossey Okai, a well-known automotive and spare parts hub in Accra, leaving extensive property damage and several vehicles completely destroyed.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the day, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky as flames quickly spread across parked vehicles within the premises.

Eyewitnesses say the fire started suddenly and intensified rapidly, consuming cars that were undergoing repairs or awaiting pickup.

Videos shared on social media show panicked bystanders watching helplessly as the blaze engulfed multiple vehicles.

Several efforts were made by local residents and shop owners to douse the flames using available fire extinguishers and water, but the intensity of the fire overwhelmed their attempts.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, though initial speculation suggests it may have been triggered by a fuel leak or electrical fault during repair work.

Officials from the Ghana National Fire Service arrived at the scene shortly after the outbreak and managed to bring the situation under control before it could spread to neighboring shops and properties.

No casualties or injuries have been reported so far, but the financial loss is expected to be substantial, considering the number of vehicles and equipment destroyed.
