A heartbreaking incident has occurred in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region, where a 15-year-old basic school pupil, Emmanuel Quansah, tragically lost his life after being knocked down by a vehicle during a late-night float.

Emmanuel, a resident of Mempeasem near Essikado, reportedly left home on Saturday night following a domestic dispute.

According to sources, his mother had attempted to punish him after he got into a quarrel with his sister, prompting the young boy to run away from home.

Later that night, he is said to have joined a group of youth from Mpintsim who were participating in a float at around 11:30 PM. Assembly Member for the area, Gabriel Mensah, told Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show host, Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, that Emmanuel joined the float at Ngyiresia as the group marched along the main road.
