Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects were involved in land guard activities, which are outlawed under Ghanaian law due to their association with violent land disputes and intimidation tactics.
During the operation, a number of weapons were retrieved, including unlicensed firearms believed to have been used in various acts of intimidation and violence.
The suspects are currently in custody and assisting with investigations.
They are expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days to face charges including unlawful possession of firearms and engaging in land guard activities.
The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to clamp down on land guard operations, which continue to pose threats to public safety, particularly in areas experiencing rapid urban development.
