The Court of Appeal has allegedly dismissed a suit filed by Madam Akosua Serwaa, the first wife of the late Ghanaian highlife legend, against key figures including Odo Broni and Abusuapanin Tupac.
The dismissal reportedly ends a legal battle that stemmed from the Kumasi High Court’s ruling delivered on November 28, 2025.
According to documents seen and sources close to the case, Madam Akosua Serwaa had appealed the High Court’s judgment, arguing that the court had unfairly dismissed critical evidence — including her marriage certificate, tendered as exhibits “B,” “B1,” and “B2.”

In her appeal, she maintained that the rejection of these documents undermined her legal standing in the matter involving the estate and funeral arrangements of the late musician.
The appeal, which was lodged at the Court of Appeal in Kumasi, aimed to overturn the High Court’s decision by contesting what her legal team described as errors in the application of the Evidence Act and misinterpretation of the relevance of her documents.
However, the appellate court is reported to have thrown out the case, effectively upholding the original ruling.
While the specific reasons for the dismissal are not yet publicly detailed, this outcome suggests that the court found no compelling grounds to revisit the High Court’s judgment.
This legal setback marks a significant blow to Akosua Serwaa’s quest to assert her rights and recognition as the late singer’s lawful spouse.
The case had garnered public interest due to its connection to a celebrated public figure and the broader issues of marital recognition, inheritance, and funeral rights.
