“Abusuapanin explains reason behind covering late Daddy Lumba’s face during lying-in-state at Heroes park in Kumasi.
The family head (Abusuapanin) of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba has publicly addressed questions surrounding the decision to cover the face of the musician during his lying-in-state.

In an interview with UTV, the Abusuapanin clarified that the move was not a family imposition but a direct wish of the late artiste.
According to him, Daddy Lumba explicitly stated in his will that upon his death, his face should be covered during the funeral rites.
This request, he explained, was also verbally communicated to his children before his passing.

“The deceased made it clear both in his written will and to his children that he didn’t want his face exposed when laid in state,” the family head stated. “As custodians of his wishes, we are bound to respect that.”
Responding to concerns from some members of the public, the Abusuapanin stressed that the family has no authority to alter the deceased’s final instructions.
He added, “He had every right to decide how he wanted his funeral to be conducted, and as his family, we are simply honouring his will.”
The statement brings clarity to what had become a topic of public discussion and affirms the family’s commitment to upholding Daddy Lumba’s final wishes with dignity and respect.
