Alleged Sammy Gyamfi salary details circulate in Parliament

The Minority in Parliament has circulated documents detailing the alleged Sammy Gyamfi salary structure. Reportedly, lawmakers released these unverified figures amid the ongoing dollar gift saga. According to their claims, the Gold Board CEO receives GH¢1.5 million annually. Specifically, the opposition asserts that this breaks down to GH¢125,000 monthly. Furthermore, the document suggests an automatic 15 percent pay rise every year. Currently, these purported numbers have sparked intense debate regarding public sector pay. However, the Gold Board has not yet officially confirmed these specific amounts.

In addition, the circulated list outlines massive personal allowances. Allegedly, the alleged Sammy Gyamfi salary package includes a 15 percent clothing allowance. Moreover, the Minority claims the state funds two personal security officers. Alternatively, the document states he could take cash equivalents for this security. Also, the report lists a gardener or a cash substitute of GH¢4,000. Supposedly, these benefits cover his spouse and five children too. Consequently, critics are questioning the scale of these unconfirmed entitlements.

Beyond the cash, the opposition highlights purported lifestyle perks. Reportedly, the contract assigns him two luxury Toyota Land Cruisers. According to the list, the state covers full maintenance and insurance. Remarkably, the Minority alleges he receives 1,500 litres of fuel monthly. Later, the document suggests he can buy these cars upon contract expiry. Meanwhile, the allegations detail extravagant travel benefits. Specifically, the text claims he gets $10,000 annually for familiarisation tours. Additionally, the Minority asserts he collects a daily per diem of $2,000.

Furthermore, business travel purportedly attracts business class tickets. Significantly, the report values his life insurance at five times his salary. However, the Minority released these figures to demand sanctions against the CEO. Previously, video footage captured him gifting money to Evangelist Patricia Asiama. Although he apologized, the opposition insists on further scrutiny. Therefore, they leaked this alleged Sammy Gyamfi salary data to pressure the government. Ultimately, the public must treat these figures as political claims currently. Finally, independent verification of the contract remains necessary.
