Breaking: Fire Outbreak Destroys Shops in Sunyani Zongo, Bono Region

A devastating fire outbreak has swept through parts of the Zongo community in Sunyani, leaving several containers and shops destroyed in its wake.

The incident, which occurred in the evening hours, triggered panic among residents and business owners as thick smoke and flames engulfed the area.

According to eyewitness accounts, the blaze is believed to have originated from an electrical shop. Reports suggest that some appliances were being repaired at the time, which may have sparked the fire.

The flames quickly spread to adjoining structures, primarily containers housing various businesses.

No casualties have been reported as of now, but affected traders have called for immediate support from authorities to help rebuild their livelihoods.

The Ghana National Fire Service is currently investigating the exact cause of the fire, with preliminary suspicions pointing to an electrical fault.

Residents are urged to observe safety precautions, especially around electrical installations, and to report faulty wiring or equipment to prevent future disasters.

Authorities have yet to release an official estimate of the losses incurred.
