A serious road accident involving two trailers and a cargo truck occurred near the Kintampo Waterfalls area on Wednesday around 2:00 PM, drawing attention once again to the dangers of overloading on Ghana’s highways.
The crash, which eyewitnesses say was a head-on collision, left one of the trailers overturned, with its cargo—consisting of packed goods in yellow crates—spilled across the road.
Debris from the crash littered the scene, causing traffic disruptions and prompting emergency responders to act swiftly to clear the area.

Though the full extent of injuries or casualties has not been confirmed, the impact was described as “severe,” with bystanders raising alarm over the size and weight of the vehicles involved.
A widely circulated image from the scene, shared by Miraberg Media, shows one of the trailers toppled over, with a caption stating, “The big trucks are overloading. Ghana wake up.”
