Breaking News: Iran Supreme Leader Has Been Killed in Israel Strikes

Israeli and U.S. officials have claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been killed in a major military operation targeting Iranian leadership and strategic sites.

The announcements came amid a large-scale offensive that saw airstrikes over Tehran and other parts of Iran, significantly escalating tensions in the Middle East.

According to statements from Israeli leadership, intelligence assessments indicate that Khamenei’s fortified compound in Tehran was struck and that he, along with several senior officials, may have been killed. U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both referred to “growing signs” suggesting that the 86-year-old cleric — who had led Iran since 1989 — was no longer alive.

Despite these assertions, there has been no immediate formal confirmation from Iranian authorities or independent verification of Khamenei’s death.

Iranian officials initially contradicted the claims, stating that the Supreme Leader remained alive, while reports also noted that communications from Tehran have been disrupted.

The potential death of Iran’s highest authority, who wielded ultimate control over the country’s political, military, and religious institutions, would mark a dramatic turning point in the conflict and create a leadership vacuum.

Analysts warn such a development could further destabilize the region and complicate efforts to de-escalate hostilities.

The situation remains fluid, with international attention focused on confirmation of the claims and the broader implications for regional security.
