A woman has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service following the circulation of a viral video in which she was seen physically assaulting a young man with a sandal.
The footage, which quickly spread across social media platforms, sparked widespread public outrage and calls for immediate action.
In the video, the woman is captured repeatedly striking the man, who did not retaliate, while bystanders were seen encouraging the abuse instead of intervening or reporting the incident.

The act, widely condemned by human rights advocates and the general public, highlights the growing concern over mob culture and abuse captured and normalized through viral content.
The police have since confirmed the arrest of the woman, who is currently in custody and assisting with investigations. Authorities have reiterated that assault in any form is a criminal offence under Ghanaian law and will not be tolerated, regardless of the circumstances.
While some speculated the attack was motivated by a personal debt issue, law enforcement officials have urged citizens to seek redress through legal channels rather than resorting to violence.

The Ghana Police Service also extended appreciation to the public for providing critical information that led to the swift apprehension of the suspect. The case is expected to proceed through the appropriate judicial processes.
