Burkina Faso releases detained Nigerian Air Force Aircraft and 11 soldiers after diplomatic intervention from government officials.
The Government of Burkina Faso has released a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft along with 11 Nigerian military personnel following high-level diplomatic negotiations between the two West African nations.
The aircraft and soldiers were detained after an earlier forced landing in Burkina Faso under undisclosed circumstances.
Their release comes after Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, led diplomatic engagements with officials of the Burkinabè government to resolve the matter.
