The President of the People’s Republic of China has issued a strong warning to the United States government, demanding the immediate release of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, following their reported abduction during a controversial U.S.-led military operation in Caracas.
In a stern statement delivered during a press briefing in Beijing, the Chinese President expressed deep concern over the growing geopolitical tensions sparked by what he described as an “illegal and reckless act” by the United States.
“The abduction of a sitting head of state is a gross violation of international law, national sovereignty, and the United Nations Charter,” he stated.

“We urge President Donald Trump to release President Maduro immediately and avoid plunging the region into further instability.”
China, a long-standing ally of Venezuela, warned that any attempt to impose a foreign-backed transitional authority in the country would be considered a direct threat to the principles of international diplomacy and multilateralism.
Beijing reiterated its support for the Venezuelan people’s right to self-determination and called on the global community to condemn the U.S. action.
The Chinese government also hinted at possible consequences should Washington fail to de-escalate the situation.
While specific retaliatory measures were not disclosed, the tone of the message signaled growing frustration with what Beijing views as a resurgence of Cold War-style interventionism.
