A day-old baby girl has been found alive after being abandoned in a black polythene bag at Fiifi Prat, a suburb of Gomoa Nyanyano in the Central Region.
The newborn was discovered in a bush near a fenced wall, with her umbilical cord still attached, indicating she had been delivered only hours earlier.
According to residents, the baby was left in a vulnerable condition that could have resulted in tragedy if not for timely intervention.

Speaking to Adom News, Chairman of the Fiifi Prat Landlord Association, Charles Oduro, explained that a good Samaritan heard persistent crying from the bush and followed the sound, leading to the discovery of the infant inside the polythene bag.
The baby was immediately rushed to a nearby health facility for emergency care and was later referred to the Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital for further medical attention.
Health officials say the child is currently stable and responding well to treatment.
Mr. Oduro expressed shock over the incident, questioning how a mother could abandon a newborn under such life-threatening conditions.
Meanwhile, the Central East Regional Commander of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, Doris Laryea, confirmed that the baby has been handed over to the Department of Social Welfare as investigations continue to trace the mother.
Authorities are appealing to the public for information that could assist ongoing investigations.
