A viral social media post, purportedly from former U.S. President Donald J. Trump, has sparked confusion and concern online after claiming that the United States carried out a large-scale military strike against Venezuela and captured its president, Nicolás Maduro, along with his wife.

The message, presented in the style of an official announcement and featuring Trump’s verified handle, states that the operation was conducted in conjunction with U.S. law enforcement and that a news conference would follow at Mar-a-Lago.

However, upon verification, there is no credible evidence or confirmation from any official U.S. government agency, the Department of Defense, or reputable news outlets to support the claims made in the post.

The image appears to be digitally manipulated or entirely fabricated, as no such statement exists on Donald Trump’s verified accounts or platforms.

As of now, President Nicolás Maduro remains in office, and no reports have emerged of any U.S. military intervention in Venezuela.

Authorities and experts warn the public against spreading unverified information, especially content that could incite panic, international tension, or misinformation.

This incident serves as a reminder of the growing issue of fake news and the use of deepfake content and impersonation to mislead the public.
