A young man posing as a military officer has been arrested after a group of real Ghana Armed Forces personnel tracked him down based on credible intelligence.

The suspect, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was seen in full military camouflage and armed with what appeared to be a rifle, raising public suspicion.

According to reports, the impostor had been parading himself in various communities as a soldier, gaining unmerited respect and possibly engaging in unlawful acts under the guise of military authority.

His arrest followed a tip-off received by actual military officers who swiftly moved to confront him at a location believed to be his base of operations.

Upon confrontation, the suspect failed to produce any valid military identification or documents verifying his affiliation with the Ghana Armed Forces.

Further interrogation confirmed that he was not a serving officer nor had any links to the military.

Authorities suspect that the impersonation may have been used to intimidate civilians or engage in fraudulent activities.

The individual is currently in custody and assisting with investigations.

The Ghana Armed Forces has since cautioned the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious individuals posing as security personnel.
