A man previously arrested for impersonating a military officer has been re-arrested following fresh allegations of fraud linked to a fake Ghana Army recruitment scheme.
According to preliminary reports, the suspect is accused of using the name of former Defence Minister, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul, to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
Investigators say he allegedly created counterfeit social media accounts bearing the former minister’s identity to lend credibility to the fraudulent recruitment exercise.

Authorities believe the suspect used these fake platforms to solicit money from victims under the guise of facilitating enlistment into the Ghana Armed Forces.
Several individuals are reported to have fallen victim to the scheme, paying various sums in hopes of securing recruitment slots.
Security officials have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the operation and to identify any accomplices who may have assisted in executing the alleged scam.
The case has once again highlighted persistent concerns surrounding fraudulent recruitment activities targeting job seekers, particularly young people eager to join the security services.
The public has been strongly advised to verify all recruitment information through official Ghana Armed Forces communication channels and to avoid making payments to individuals claiming to guarantee enlistment.
